Fort Cobb, OK – November 4, 2015 – Shawn Freie, CKBDC Incubator Manager and Small Business Coordinator at Caddo Kiowa Technology Center, joins an elite group of graduates who have demonstrated their commitment and support for the entrepreneurial ecosystem by earning the Business Incubation Management Certificate from the International Business Innovation Association.

“Shawn’s attainment of the certification enables us to provide even better services to new and potential businesses in the southwest region,” said Superintendent Dennis Ruttman. “What’s more, she is a tremendous resource for our district.”

The curated curriculum of the Business Incubation Management Certificate provides a practical and comprehensive 360-degree view of both foundational knowledge and best practices around managing successful entrepreneurial support programs. These programs include business incubators, accelerators, maker spaces, coworking spaces or hybrid models, designed to give hands-on development and coaching to help start-up and emerging companies succeed. Launched in 2006, the certificate program provides leaders of entrepreneurial support programs with the skills needed to provide sustainable assistance to entrepreneurs and growth businesses, and to serve as a keystone provider within local ecosystems.

“InBIA’s certificate program is globally recognized as the gold standard regarding best practices for building sustainable entrepreneurial support programs,” states Kirstie Chadwick, President and CEO of InBIA. “Graduates of InBIA’s certificate program are uniquely positioned to deploy proven models for supporting local entrepreneurs and portfolio companies while providing their respective programs with a designation of quality that is internationally recognized.”

The Washita Valley Regional Partnership is a Caddo Kiowa Technology Center based, economic development consortium that serves to reinforce and grow wealth in the Washita Valley quadrant of Southwest Oklahoma by maximizing workforce and economic development opportunities through a regional, collaborative process. The organization focuses on the six critical tiers of economic development: Leadership Development, Workforce Development, Community Capacity Development, Entrepreneurial Development, Business Retention and Expansion and Business and Industry Recruitment.  This collaborative process includes such key partners as, but is not limited to, regional business and industry, regional economic developers, city and county government agencies, divisions and department of the State of Oklahoma, industrial development boards, regional Native American tribes and chambers of commerce.  The Public/Private Board of Directors membership includes  The City of Anadarko, Caddo County Industrial Authority, Caddo Kiowa Technology Center, Caddo Electric Cooperative, Western Farmers Electric Cooperative and Public Services of Oklahoma.
